Customer review

My cat really loves this food. It seems pretty easy to digest, and is easy on the stomach. She is a really sensitive eater, and this is one of the few brands that she seems to digest without any upset stomach (Weruva and Wellness being the others she tolerates well).

I had also emailed Nature's Variety and asked them if they used human grade ingredients, and the representative said that they did, which, for whatever a claim is worth, is a plus.

As a side story...Around 2008, my cat, who up til then had been on a diet solely of dry kibble her whole life, became deathly ill. She wouldn't eat anything and lost so much weight that I was sure I was going to lose her. My vet had misdiagnosed her with kidney failure, but I wanted a second opinion, so I took her to another vet, who discovered she had diabetes (her blood glucose was so high it was off the meter).

I managed her insulin religiously, and with insulin, her appetite came back meagerly. I gave her baby food for about a week (it was all she could stomach), but I knew she couldn't live off of baby food for long, so I started looking for a good quality wet food.

After some research, I started feeding her Nature's Variety Instinct, Chicken. I had to puree it in a blender at first, but to my heart's delight, she ate it. After several months, her blood glucose began to drop, until it stabilized at normal levels, and after about a year she was off the insulin completely. She got really lucky, not only to have avoided a life-ending misdiagnosis, but to beat diabetes as well.

I can't say for sure what role the food played in her recovery, but I think that having a good quality wet food most certainly helped.

She's been eating Nature's Variety Instinct happily for about 3 years now.
